About Me

Why hello there... I'm Lauren. :-)
When I started this lil old blog in January 2013 my husband and I were the proud parents of a 1yo boy and 2yo girl.

AND THEN we fell pregnant with twins (known as the 'twincesses'!).

When our twins were born (at 37+1 in a natural birth with twin 2 footling breech - birth story to come) we had four children aged 3 and under!

2014 and 2015 were both a whirlwind (let's face it... and every year since) and I'm only just catching up!

My husband and I, along with our four little cherubs, live on Australia's Gold Coast.

We moved up from Sydney in late 2010 and simply love it here.
We enjoy going to the beach, parks, events, fairs and festivals etc. We love checking out everything this great city has to offer.

I have a passion for making informed parenting decisions and have a cheeky sense of humour (and yes, I can often be found laughing at my own jokes).

As well as spending time with my gorgeous family, I also enjoy building sandcastles and mud pies with my babies, looking at the bottomless laundry pile, meeting new people, play dates, attending zumba classes, an occasional dose of karaoke, celeb-spotting, rare date nights with hubby (usually at a work event), part-time work and chocolate.

A total backflip on my life BC (before children) as a multi-award-winning print journalist in the big smoke (details in About Me) attending events, mixing with celebs, attending after works drinks that turned into all-nighters, 12-hour days in the office, and special overseas trips with my hubby (together 20 years, married 13 years).

This blog is a place for me to share things I'm passionate about, things that will entertain you, various things about my day-to-day life and the never-ending dilemma of trying to juggle motherhood, work and life in general.
And I hope to share any info, tips and tricks I come across that might be of benefit to all of the other fab mummies who, like me, are just trying to do the best you can.

Here, I'll share anything that makes me laugh, cry, smirk, cackle or have a cranky face.

I'm particularly passionate about positive parenting, peaceful parenting, attachment parenting, breastfeeding, intactivism, extended rear-facing car seats, sleep safety and vaccination.

I also welcome discussion and networking with other mummas (well, everyone's welcome really ;-).

Hope you can join me for the ride:
