Step aside 'Mum bun' fanatics.
For now, it seems, a new hair trend is gaining momentum in Australia.
(Well, let's face it, us Mums aren't exactly Mum bun 'fanatics' now are we... it's more of a 'Hey let's whip this mass of hair away from my face/sweat/baby vomit/poo/peanut butter/Sudcocream/grubby fingers' type deal, isn't it?!)
Mums from around the country are taking to social media to show off their hotted-up Mum buns complete with undercuts - featuring 'tracks' or patterns such as zig zags and stars.

The artistic undercut (where one's hair is pulled up into a bun or pony tail, exposing the hair at the back of your head that is then shaved) is proving quite a hit in the Mum community as it provides an opportunity to still showcase one's youth or style without being permanent like a piercing or tattoo.
(Adulting is hard work some times, so whatever floats your boat I say! I even considered red/purple/blue coloured foils at my recent hair appointment).

One word of advice for those lopping their locks in the name of fashion/comfort, the word is that you may need to wear your hair down for a while if you decide to let the artistic undercut grow out, as you'd hate to sport a mullet now, wouldn't you?
Are you a 'Mum Bun' devotee?
Would you consider/ have you got an artistic undercut?
What are your thoughts?

I don't think my hair is thick enough for this hair style! If I shaved off that much hair I wouldn't have that much left to rock a good pony tail or mum bun!
