I'm baa-aack ;-) Happy New Year!

By Lauren - Gold Coast Mum

Hey there, Happy New Year!

Hope 2016 has kicked off to a great start for you.

I'm finally back in action after (our crazy/ never-to-be-done-again) move a few days before Christmas.

We've kind of unpacked (I still have many days ahead of me sorting through my chuck/sell/donate piles of things) and have been settling in to our new home.

We survived a few weeks pet-sitting our friends' gorgeous pooch - who was an absolute breeze to look after.

We have internet - hip, hip hooray! After many hours on the phone to the ISP trying to fix our dodgy connection.

We've had family and friends over at Christmas and NYE.

We now have a dishwasher - seriously life-changing! ;-)

Our new place is split level so there are a couple of staircases that the twincesses (now 2y2months) have been learning to be careful around (though there have been a couple of bumps and bruises along the way).

We now have a pool so hubby has been Mr Pool Guy - out there everyday ensuring the pool is kept in tip top condition for us to all enjoy.

The school holidays have been hectic at times with Miss 5 and Mr 3 causing havoc. Though, now that they have their own bedrooms, they have been enjoying keeping their rooms tidy and playing with toys in their own rooms, briefly.

Annnnd... the twincesess now making me question my phrase 'Terrific Twos' as they follow me around the house causing chaos wherever they go (unrolling/running off with toilet paper while Mummy is on the loo/ opening the fridge and cracking eggs in bowls to make themselves a snack/ applying MY make-up and tipping $200-per-gram (or something like that) make-up into the sink and being a tad more demanding when it comes to which outfits and shoes they will allow me to dress them in!

Gawd, give me strength ;-)

Cheeky twincesses now say 'CHEEEESE' when it's photo time (mainly because my new Samsung phone automatically takes a photo when I saw Cheeeeese). Photo: Gold Coast Mum.com

Hubby had some time off over the Christmas break which was lovely.
I continued working (from home and from my Mum's when our internet still wasn't connected) so it was a good balance.

Frangipani tree at our new house :-)

We caught up with family and friends and had lots of fun with our 4 little ones.

We celebrated a birthday!
Mr 3 just turned 4!
He had been requesting a blue Batman cake for many months, so hubby delivered the goods with only seconds to spare (he was finishing off the cake as our guests arrived).

We saw 'snow'

Miss 5 and Mr then-still-3 and I went to the snowdome at Robina Town Centre with my Nanna (turns 80 this year) and my Mum.
It was a bunch of fun!
Though I still had bits of 'snow' (cough, ahem, plastic) coming out of my hair/clothes for days ;-)

We popped along to a play date with the Gold Coast Multiple Birth Association.
The twincesses and Miss 5 loved watching the pelicans during feeding time (1.30pm outside Charis Seafood, Labrador), followed by a play in the park before heading home for a swim.
