Out & about on the Gold Coast - hubby's birthday weekend

We celebrated my hubby’s birthday over the weekend.

Saturday morning, hubby enjoyed a rare treat - a game of golf!
He used to be a regular but since having our twins 21 months ago, he has only had time to play around three times.

After his game, he met the children and I at their swimming lessons and then, after heading home to get ready, we went and checked out the Gold Coast Turf Club's family fun day.

The kids loved seeing the horses in action on the track, riding ponies, the entertainment, getting their faces painted and just enjoying the whole vibe.
We also bumped into some friends which was fantastic!

Miss 5 also loved looking at all the ladies' frocks and fascinators - and I even took the opportunity to wear a head piece just for fun.

On Sunday, hubby's actual birthday, we caught up with family and stuffed ourselves silly at the Max Brenner Australia chocolate bar at Robina Town Centre.

We tried out the two limited edition hot chocolates (only available this month) – Luscious Liquorice (milk hot chocolate with a Liquorice milk infusion) and Strawberry Fields Cheesecake (strawberry cheesecake white hot chocolate).

After our chocolate-filled afternoon tea, the kids’ highlight (before going off to play in the park after sitting patiently) was the Chocolate Mess Party for Two (a chocolate sponge cake in a tin topped with ice cream, whipped cream and sprinkles).
We served this with candles I brought along to sing Happy Birthday (and then shared between 6 adults and 4 children).

** Gold Coast Mum was gifted the two hot chocolates for review purposes. All opinions my own.

  1. Sounds like an epic day of celebration. You look lovely all dolled up for the races. I never thought of taking the girls there, but they would probably really like it.
